Step by step
Open your account page
- Sign in (see Create an account and sign in).
- Choose your photo or initials at the top right of any page, then My account.
- The page opens with your name, or Your account until you add one, and the address you are signed in with.
Download a gift receipt
- On your account page, go to Giving and tax documents.
- In the table of your gifts, newest first, find the gift by its date, fund and amount.
- Choose its receipt number under Receipt to download the PDF. A refunded gift says so, and has no receipt to download.
Download a year-end statement
- On your account page, go to Giving and tax documents, then Year-end statements.
- Choose the year, for example 2026 statement (PDF). It lists every gift you made that year, with the total, for your tax records.
Bring in gifts you made without signing in
- If your email address isn’t confirmed yet, Giving and tax documents starts with a box that asks whether you gave without signing in.
- Choose Email me a sign-in link and open the link in the same browser.
- Gifts and store orders made with that address join your account, with their receipts.
Change or stop a monthly or yearly gift
- Under Monthly and yearly gifts, each gift shows its amount, fund, next date and card. A note says when one needs you, such as after a declined payment.
- Choose Manage to change the amount, the fund or the card, or to stop it. Step by step: Change or stop a monthly or yearly gift.
- Stopped gifts are listed apart; See its payments opens one with every payment and its receipt.
See your store orders
- Go to Your orders on your account page. It shows once you have an order saved to your account.
- Each order shows its number, the day, what you bought, the total and where it stands, for example To ship, Shipped, Ready for pickup, Picked up or Refunded.
- Once it ships, the carrier and tracking number are there too.
- Choose Receipt (PDF) to download the order’s receipt. A gift you added at checkout is listed with your gifts, with its own receipt.
Open your preparedness plan or your Blockwatch
- Emergency preparedness shows how many items are done on each checklist and how much of your contact card is filled in. Choose Start your plan or Open your plan. See Your preparedness plan.
- Blockwatch shows each province you asked to join and where it stands, such as Waiting for a volunteer to confirm your address or Confirmed member. Choose Ask to join Blockwatch or Open your Blockwatch. See Join Blockwatch.
Choose the email you get
- Go to Email from the Foundation.
- Switch Newsletter or Special offers on or off. The page says Subscribed. Thank you. or Unsubscribed.
- The switches need a confirmed email address; until then, the section offers a sign-in link that confirms it. More in Email from the Foundation.
Fill in your profile
- Go to Your profile.
- Under About you, type your first and last name and, if you like, a title or role and an organization.
- Under Contact details, add a phone number, an address and links to your website or social pages, as you wish. Each is optional.
- Choose Save profile. The page says Profile saved.
- Your name and a US address in your profile fill in the shipping address at the store’s checkout and for a thank-you patch, so you type them less.
Add or change your photo
- Go to Photo and choose Add a photo (or Replace the photo) to pick a JPEG, PNG or WebP file of up to 10 MB.
- Under Describe the photo, say what it shows, for people who use a screen reader.
- Choose Save photo. It is cropped to a square around the middle of the picture, and any location data in the file is removed. It shows at the top of your account page and at the top right of every page.
- To take it off, choose Remove photo. A photo is optional.
Change your email address, or close your account
- Your email address can’t be changed on the page. Write to us from the Contact page with the address you use now and the one you would like.
- To have your account deleted, write to us the same way. We delete your account, profile, preparedness plan, Blockwatch requests and email records from this site and from our email system (see Corrections and removals).
Good to know
- Everything on your account page is private to you and the Foundation. Your contact details are never shown on the public site.
- Gifts and store orders you made without signing in join your account once your email address is confirmed, so nobody can see them by making an account with your address.
- Receipts and statements are made from our records each time you download them, as PDFs.
- Your orders shows only when you have an order saved to your account. Monthly and yearly gifts shows only when you have one.
- If a section can’t be read just now, it says so or is left out, and the rest of the page still works.
- A new account has no special roles. The Foundation gives those only to the people whose work needs them, such as Blockwatch volunteers, editors and board members.
- A photo can be a JPEG, PNG or WebP file of up to 10 MB, and needs a description.
- At the foot of the page, Help lists every help topic, including this one.
Questions and answers
Privacy
Who can see my account page?
Only you see the page, when you are signed in. The records behind it, such as your gifts, are private to you and the Foundation, and nothing on it is shown on the public site. The privacy page says what we keep and why.
What do you do with my profile?
We keep your name, organization and contact details in our records, including our email system, and use your name and address to fill in forms for you. We never sell your information. See the FAQ.
What you see
Why doesn’t my account show a gift I made?
Gifts made without signing in join your account only once your email address is confirmed, and only when they were made with the same address. Confirm it with the link the page offers (see Bring in gifts you made without signing in). If you gave with another address, write to us.
Why don’t I see Your orders?
It appears once an order is saved to your account. An order placed without signing in joins your account the way a gift does, once your email address is confirmed. See The store.
What is Your roles and permissions for?
For people who help run the Foundation, it lists each role their account holds and what it lets them do. Most accounts have none, and the section says so.
Changing things
How do I change my email address?
Write to us from the Contact page with the address you use now and the one you would like.
How do I delete my account?
Write to us from the Contact page. See Change your email address, or close your account.
How do I stop your emails?
Switch the lists off under Email from the Foundation, or use the unsubscribe link in any of our emails. Receipts and sign-in links still come. See Email from the Foundation.
If something goes wrong
The messages you may see, word for word (“…” stands for a part that changes), what they mean and what to do.
- “No gifts are saved to your account yet.”
No gift is joined to your account, perhaps because you gave without signing in.
What to do: Confirm your email address with the link the page offers; gifts made with that address then appear. Or make a gift.
- “Your roles could not be read just now.”
Our sign-in service did not answer when the page asked about your roles.
What to do: Reload the page in a minute. The rest of the page works meanwhile.
- “Choose a photo first.”
Save photo was pressed before a file was chosen.
What to do: Choose Add a photo, pick a file, then Save photo.
- “Describe the photo for people who cannot see it.”
A photo needs a short description.
What to do: Type what it shows under Describe the photo, then save it.
- “That file is not a JPEG, PNG or WebP photo, whatever its name says. Save it again in one of those formats.”
The file is another kind, even if its name ends in .jpg.
What to do: Open it in a photo app, save or export it as a JPEG, and try again.
- “That file is …. The limit is ….”
A photo can be up to 10 MB.
What to do: Use a smaller copy of the photo, such as one your phone shares at a smaller size.
- “Too many uploads. Wait a minute, then try again.”
Several photos were sent in a short time.
What to do: Wait a minute, then save the photo once more.
- “Use digits, spaces and + ( ) - only, e.g. 206-555-0100.”
The phone number has letters or other characters in it.
What to do: Type the number with digits, spaces, dashes, brackets or a plus sign only.
- “Enter the full … address, starting with https://.”
A website or social link needs its whole address.
What to do: Copy the address from your browser’s address bar, starting with https://, and paste it in.
- “We could not reach the server. Check your connection and try again.”
Your device lost its connection while saving.
What to do: Check that you are online, then try again.
